Xavi Simons has long been linked with a move to Chelsea, but Tottenham appear to have intensified their pursuit of the RB Leipzig star.
The 22-year-old has reportedly traveled to London for talks, with Bild claiming he is “on the verge” of joining Tottenham.
Sky Germany, however, reports that Chelsea remain in the race for the Dutch midfielder, who now looks likely to join one of the two London clubs before the transfer window closes.
RB Leipzig are demanding €70 million for Simons, who has likely played his final game for the club.
The Dutch international has featured a total of 78 times for Leipzig, racking up 22 goals and 24 assists.
