Xabi Alonso is open to joining Bayern Munich this summer, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Bayer Leverkusen head coach will be in high demand this summer, with Bayern and Premier League giants Liverpool chasing his signature.
As per the report, the 42-year-old is open to joining the Bavarian club as manager but he will not come cheap.
Alonso doesn’t have a written release clause in his contract until 2025, which stands at €15m. This means that B04 are in complete control of setting any potential fee for the Spaniard this year.
It’s been reported that Alonso could cost either Liverpool or Bayern upwards of €25m.
The former World Cup winner is currently on course to achieving Leverkusen’s first-ever Bundesliga title. With 11 games to go, B04 are 8 points clear, and are yet to lose a game in any competition.
They are the only club in Europe’s top five leagues to have not lost a game all season.
