According to AZ/WAZ, Patrick Wimmer has rejected an offer from Brighton & Hove Albion. The 24-year-old, who has also attracted interest from RB Leipzig, wants to stay in Germany.
Last month, it was reported that Patrick Wimmer was considering his future after interest emerged from both Brighton & Hove Albion and RB Leipzig.
Now, according to AZ/WAZ, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has decided to turn down an offer from Brighton.
The Austrian international is keen to remain in Germany, either continuing at Wolfsburg or taking the next step to another Bundesliga club such as Leipzig.
The report suggests that further talks between Leipzig and the player’s representatives are expected in the coming days.
Afterwards, Die Roten Bullen will consider whether to make a formal bid to Wolfsburg, with a transfer fee of around €20 million likely to be on the table.
Wimmer’s contract runs until 2027.
