Confirmation of the scheduling of the planned meeting between Barcelona head coach Xavi, and president Joan Laporta, has been forthcoming online.
The expectation, over the weekend, was that Xavi and Laporta were set to sit down for showdown talks regarding the former’s future in the aftermath of Sunday’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
As much of course comes amid mounting speculation that Barca’s boss is in line to be dismissed upon the season’s close.
And though the pair did indeed meet on the back of the Blaugrana’s 3-0 triumph last night, their exchange was described as brief at best.
Laporta, it is understood, was feeling altogether unwell, therefore departing Montjuïc at the earliest available opportunity.
What, then, does this mean for the highly-anticipated sit-down between the parties?
Some have speculated that as much has been pencilled in for Monday afternoon.
As per a mounting number of sources in the Spanish media, however, in fact, the plan is for Xavi and Laporta to hash things out once the season has officially come to a close.
The curtain will be drawn on Barcelona’s campaign next Sunday against Sevilla, meaning formal talks will likely be kickstarted at some point the same day.
