West Ham lodge late Deadline Day move to sign Chelsea’s Axel Disasi

West Ham United have lodged a late Deadline Day attempt to sign France international centre-back Axel Disasi (27) from Premier League rivals Chelsea FC, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. Disasi has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, despite Levi Colwill’s serious ACL injury. The Frenchman has been offered to several clubs, and time is running out with the summer transfer window closing in a couple of hours.

West Ham United are trying their luck at clinching Disasi’s signing before the 7pm BST deadline, but no agreement has been reached at this stage, reports RMC Sport. The Hammers would be in the market for a centre-back after parting ways with Nayef Aguerd. The Moroccan defender has landed in Marseille this Monday to complete a permanent transfer with Roberto De Zerbi’s Les Phocéens.
