All of a Barcelona persuasion will no doubt be intrigued to hear of one of the club’s most highly-regarded young talents, on Sunday, conjuring up an individual masterclass at youth level.
The player in question? Dani Rodríguez.
Winger/midfielder Rodríguez, for his part, was forced to make do with a spot on the bench this afternoon.
This came as Barca Atlètic welcomed Celta de Vigo II to the Estadi Johan Cruyff for a league clash.
With 45 minutes on the clock, and his side trailing by two goals to nil amid what has been a difficult season to date, however, the 19-year-old was introduced to the fray for Noah Darvich.
And what an outing Rodríguez went on to enjoy…
First, mere minutes after being thrown on, the young attacker drew his side level, courtesy of a sumptuous lofted effort into the far top corner:
And Rodríguez was back at it again a short time later, on this occasion creating from deep, driving into the Celta penalty area to exchange a quick one-two, before slotting into the bottom corner in confident fashion:
With such remarkable talent boasted in his twinkling feet, it should come as little surprise to hear of Rodríguez already being tipped for a future first-team berth in Catalunya’s capital…
