Bild reports that VfB Stuttgart have offered Nick Woltemade a new contract as his performances have begun to attract interest from other clubs.
The offer that was presented to the 23-year-old was a one-year extension to his current deal that is valid until 2028 and an increase in salary that would see him earn €2.5m per year. Woltemade currently earns €1.5m.
There is still no agreement on a new deal yet as Woltemade wants more money. The highest earners at Stuttgart are Angelo Stiller and Deniz Undav (€4.5m), followed by Chris Führich and Jamie Leweling (€4m).
The striker has begun to attract interest from other European clubs following a breakout season that saw him play a key role in Stuttgart’s DFB-Pokal win, as well as starring in the current under-21 Euros for Germany.
Even if an extension cannot be agreed this summer, Stuttgart are still in control as Woltemade’s deal is valid for three more years and there is no release clause in his contract.
