Valencia’s number ‘9’ Hugo Duro is set to miss both the side’s Copa del Rey tie against CP Parla Escuela as well as their match against Real Madrid at the weekend due to a hip injury.
This follows recent news of Thierry Correia’s ACL injury, although Duro’s injury isn’t as severe as that of his teammate.
As per Diario AS, The forward will miss at least the next two Valencia matches before being reassessed to see if he can take part in the club’s trip to Barcelona to take on Espanyol.
Duro has been Valencia’s top scorer so far this season, although with only two goals he hasn’t exactly set the world alight. His best moment of the season so far was getting a goal in the 2-1 losing effort against Barcelona back in August.
With Hugo Duro out of the picture for the next few games, it will be interesting to see if anyone else in the Valencia squad will be able to step up and contribute in an area where the club have been lacking so far this season.
