After a brief flirtation with VfL Bochum, want-away 1. FC Union Berlin striker Sven Michel has evidently opted to move to Germany’s Fuggerstadt. Germany’s Kicker Magazine now confirms a report by Sky’s German outfit concerning the 32-year-old’s move to Bavaria. FC Augsburg have apparently offered the veteran attacker a better annual salary.
Union are set to pocket a transfer fee of approximately €950,000 for Michel. The player himself is reportedly in for a pay raise of approximately €250,000. Michel’s prospects with die Eisernen diminished further after the acquisition of Danish striker Mikkel Kaufmann at the beginning of the week. The move may mean that one of the members of Augsburg’s striking corps – Dion Beljo or Mërgim Berisha may be headed out.
