Under-fire Barcelona star’s agents arrive for meeting with the club

The representatives of Barcelona star Ronald Araújo were on Monday spotted in attendance at the club’s training base.

This came with a view to holding a meeting with Blaugrana sporting director Deco.

The name of defender Araújo has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.

As much comes after the Uruguayan was widely slammed for his needless red card en route to Barcelona slipping to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

The backlash is understood to have hit Araújo hard, amid mounting calls for his sale on the part of the Camp Nou brass.

The 26-year-old has in fact not been seen in training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad since the incident.

Early this week, his agents therefore felt it necessary to fly in for a round of talks with Barca chief Deco.

As per a report from Carlos Monfort of Diario Sport, alongside an accompanying video:

‘Deco holds meeting with Ronald Araújo’s agents at the Ciutat Esportiva! His agents, Edoardo Mazzolari and Edoardo Crnjar, are currenlty meeting in Deco’s office to review the centre-back’s situation. After days of uncertainty, the meeting has finally arrived!’
