Girona have today announced their matchday squad set to travel to the San Siro to face AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Girona still have a very slim hope of qualifying for the knockout stages of Europe’s premium club competition, but it will be an uphill battle, requiring wins against both AC Milan and Arsenal.
The biggest news from the matchday squad published this afternoon is the absence of two of Michel’s key stars; Miguel Gutiérrez and Bojan Miovski.
Miovski has been absent with a hamstring injury since the start of December while Miguel Gutiérrez hasn’t played since his side’s 1-0 win against Alaves ten days ago.
Gutiérrez is also currently the subject of sustained interest from Real Madrid, who could pursue the 23-year-old’s signature now they have abandoned their pursuit of Alphonso Davies.
Curiously, Arnaut Danjuma has returned to the matchday squad despite not yet making a return to training, making it fairly unlikely he will get any game time.
