Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Friday’s top-of-the-table clash with Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel gave an update on his squad.

Most notably, Joshua Kimmich is doubtful after picking up a knock on international duty with a Germany, while Jamal Musiala looks set to return to the squad after a spell on the sidelines.

“Jo Kimmich is doubtful and we’re still waiting on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Jamal Musiala wasn’t with the national team. He had slight back problems. He’s trained without pain of late and if that remains the case, he’ll be in the squad tomorrow,” said Tuchel.

Tuchel also revealed that Manuel Neuer, who hasn’t played since last year, has suffered another injury setback.

“Manu was very close but then had a calf problem in his other leg. He’s still doing running. We’re being cautious there for now. The plan is for him to return to goalkeeper training next week and then have another attempt at team training the following week. He and we are very positive, though. We have to wait,” Tuchel said.
