Tottenham want Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford or Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the summer, reports the Sun.

The north London club are preparing for life without Hugo Lloris.

The contract of the 36-year-old Frenchman ends in 2024, and Spurs are scouring the market for the perfect replacement.

Pickford signed a contract extension until 2027 last month after agreeing to a four-and-a-half deal.

However, that will not stop Tottenham from attempting to lure him away from Merseyside.

Everton are fighting relegation, and failure to hold on to their Premier League status will force them to sell Pickford.

Spurs also have Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez on their radar.

They will go after the Argentina international if a deal for Pickford proves difficult.

The Toffees would want around £35 million for the England international, but a sale is unexpected if they stay up.

Sean Dyche’s side are 15th in the Premier League after 27 games.

However, only two points separate them from the drop zone and they are still firmly in the relegation battle.

Pickford has committed his future to the Goodison Park club and will look to help them remain in the English top flight.

Martinez appears ready to leave Villa Park after winning the World Cup in Qatar last year.

However, the former Arsenal goalie could have reservations over joining Tottenham.

The 30-year-old spent a decade with the Gunners, and moving to their bitter rivals may not appeal to him.

Spurs’ first-choice goalie Lloris is currently out injured, and Fraser Forster has taken his place.

The former Southampton star has been decent in the Frenchman’s absence.

However, at 34, he is a short-term option, and signing a younger option is necessary in the summer.
