The French president visited Les Bleus Clairefontaine training base on Monday morning as Didier Deschamps’ side ramp up their preparations for the forthcoming EURO 2024 tournament in Germany, and a video captured by RMC Sport captures the moment when the French superstar reveals when his long-protracted move to the Spanish capital will be announced:
Macron: Kylian, how are you? In good shape?
Mbappé: I’m OK.
Macron: Is it being announced today?
Mbappé: Yes yes, this evening.
The announcement has been expected following the conclusion of Real Madrid’s season on Saturday night, a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund to clinch their record 15th Champions League title at Wembley Stadium. Mbappé’s Paris Saint-Germain contract expires this summer and the announcement, when it finally comes, will mark the end of football’s worst kept secret and a saga that has rumbled on for several years.
