Oliver Kahn has put pressure on the Bayern Munich players to step up their game after an unconvincing start to 2023 has seen the German champions lose their cushion at the top of the Bundesliga table.
After Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of Gladbach, Bayern lead the league on goal difference in front of Borussia Dortmund and Sunday’s opponents, Union Berlin.
Speaking to Sport Bild, Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn now urges the players to show what they’re made of.
“We dropped too many points in the Bundesliga, that cannot happen to us. We’re top only with goal difference. The players now have to show they’re Bayern Munich,” Kahn said.
“A game like against Union Berlin, a top of the table duel, is the perfect stage to prove to everyone that nobody knows what to do in such a situation better than Bayern.”
