After falling out of favour at Manchester City, Joao Cancelo spent the second half of last season on loan at Bayern Munich.
The Portuguese left-back made 21 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring one goal and providing six assists to help them to the title.
In an interview with A Bola, Cancelo reflected on his time in Germany, saying that winning the Bundesliga with Bayern was much harder than he thought it would be.
“The Bundesliga was harder than I thought. I thought the Bundesliga would be easier than it was and that Bayern would be much more dominant, especially because they had won 10 titles in a row,” Cancelo said, adding:
“Things got complicated in the end because Dortmund were doing very well when I arrived, playing very good football. I had the pleasure of playing for this team full of talent and the happiness of winning a title with the club.”
Cancelo is currently on loan at FC Barcelona.
