Manchester United target Achraf Hakimi would be an “unbelievable signing” for Erik ten Hag, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The Moroccan international signed for PSG from Borussia Dortmund last year, but he’s already being linked away from the French capital.
What’s the latest news involving Hakimi?
Ten Hag has already signed two defenders this window, with Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez arriving from Dutch outfits PSV and Ajax, but the United boss appears to still need a right-back.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka being linked with a return to Crystal Palace, Diogo Dalot could end up being the club’s only player in that area.
Therefore, Football Insider believe the Red Devils are plotting an ambitious move for Hakimi, with the report claiming that United are ‘working on a deal’ to convince the 23-year-old to come to the Premier League.
But while Jones believes that he would be a tremendous coup for United, he reckons they face stiff competition from both Barcelona and Chelsea for his signature.
What did Jones say about Hakimi?
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Hakimi is firmly on the radar of Barcelona, and it is a result of that we will now see United, and Chelsea linked to him.
“There is no doubt this player wants to come to the Premier League at some stage and he would be an unbelievable signing if United could somehow pull it off.”
Would Hakimi be a good signing for United?
Hakimi is regarded as one of the top attacking full-backs in Europe and would therefore be a massive upgrade on both Wan-Bissaka and Dalot.
He hasn’t played in the Premier League before, but he boasts an impressive record in both Italy and Germany.
Having left Real Madrid for Inter Milan in 2020, where he enjoyed a successful 12 months, scoring seven goals and registering 11 assists from right-back to help the San Siro giants win Serie A for the first time since 2011.
His form caught the eye of PSG, who paid Inter £60m for his services, and he’s continued to prove himself as an elite full-back, chipping in with 13 goal contributions in just 45 appearances, and has added the Ligue 1 title to his medal collection, which now stands at eight.
With United’s full-backs contributing very little last season, with their current quartet laying on just seven assists between them, Hakimi would be a massive improvement in that department.
