Harry Kane has beaten Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe to this year’s Ballon d’Or award and a supercomputer has already determined whether he will become a two-time winner this time next year.
In one of the most closely fought races in the award’s history, Kane came out on top following a sensational season for club and country. He played the lead role for Bayern Munich, helping them win the Bundesliga title and two other trophies before starring at the FIFA World Cup for England, who finished third.
The Ballon d’Or awards ceremony has become one of the most-watched events in football and the winner joins an esteemed company. While Yamal may have come up short this year, he is tipped for success over the next decade.
Supercomputer Backs Yamal For Three Ballon d’Or Wins
Yamal has already made a red-hot start to the 2026-27 season, bagging eight goals and six assists in 10 games across competitions for Barcelona. The Spanish winger has been dreaming of a Ballon d’Or win and that might just come to fruition in 2027.
A supercomputer from Canadian Sports Betting has predicted Yamal will take his place on the throne next year. Not only that, but the 19-year-old is predicted to win the award three times over the next decade.
Before Yamal is backed to next win it in 2031, the belief is that Jude Bellingham prevails next year. The timing of this prediction couldn’t have been better, as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1 in El Clasico on Sunday night and the English midfielder put in an eye-catching display.
Michael Olise is tipped to win the award in 2029, perhaps taking over from Kane as Bayern’s talisman at the Allianz Arena. The French winger is followed by Erling Haaland, who might not be playing his football at Manchester City in four years’ time given the club’s guilty charges for breaching Premier League financial rules.
After Yamal picks the award up for a second time, Endrick will have seemingly fulfilled his potential at Madrid as the supercomputer believes the Brazilian youngster claims the honour in 2032. Staying in Spain, Barca’s Pau Cubarsi is tipped to become the first defender since Fabio Cannavaro in 2006 to win the Ballon d’Or.
Perhaps the biggest surprise name on this list is Arda Guler, who has started to live up to expectations at the Estadio Bernabeu this season. Yamal becomes a two-time winner in 2035 before Chelsea’s Estevao takes the award home in 2036.
The supercomputer believes players from La Liga and the Premier League, as it stands, are expected to dominate the Ballon d’Or over the next decade. Nobody knows what’s around the corner and football is such an unpredictable sport that such predictions, especially over a 10-year period, will struggle to come to fruition.
Snubbed Kylian Mbappe Surely Wins a Ballon d’Or
Despite finishing in the top three on this year’s podium, the supercomputer doesn’t expect the Madrid star to claim the award in the nine years to follow. That comes as a surprise given his exploits for France, becoming the top goalscorer in World Cup history this past summer.
Mbappe also delivered world-class performances at the Bernabeu, thriving despite his team’s failure to win silverware. As eight-time winner Lionel Messi and five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo prepare to bid farewell to the sport, the Frenchman is one player whom many believe can similarly dominate world football over an extended period.
Other big-name omissions the supercomputer has made include Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Madrid’s Vinicius Junior. There will be youngsters dreaming of nights like tonight, including Arsenal’s Max Dowman and PSG’s Warren Zaire-Emery.
