Stuttgart in deadlock negotiations to sign Oh Hyeon-gyu

VfB Stuttgart have reached an agreement in principle with KRC Genk to sign Oh Hyeon-gyu (24) but with just hours of the transfer window remaining, there’s a deadlock in negotiations with the transfer yet to be finalised. According to Sky Germany, negotiations are still in full swing but there’s uncertainty about whether the South Korea international will join the Bundesliga club as Nick Woltemade’s replacement.

Oh Hyeon-gyu has already completed his medical examination and has agreed a five-year contract with Stuttgart, but there’s no movement on the final signature. It’s also not clear what the final discussions are about, but it’s likely to be how the payment structure of bonuses will work – as is usually the case. As Dennis Bayer reported yesterday, VfB were about to pay €20m plus bonuses to sign the 24-year-old.

In what has been a busy 24 hours for Stuttgart, they confirmed the signing of OGC Nice midfielder Badredine Bouanani (20) and are also working on a deal for Bilal El Khannouss (21) of Leicester City.
