A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has today been tipped to secure for himself a place in the Spanish national team squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The player in question? Ferran Torres.
Frontman Torres is for his part in the midst of an altogether difficult run of form at present.
After enjoying a productive opening half to the term, an injury picked up late in January marked a major setback for the former Manchester City man.
And Torres, all told, has since failed to get things back on track in the colours of Barcelona.
The 24-year-old has failed to notch either a goal or assist in any of his last 12 appearances at club level.
Such woes had seen it suggested that Torres’ chances of being called up by Spain for Euro 2024 this summer were slimming by the day.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then as much, as of yet, has not been at all ruled out.
In fact, as per Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, the attacker, no doubt in large part owing to his versatility, is still in with a strong shout of being called upon by La Roja boss Luis de la Fuente.
