As reported by SPORT1, FC Köln defender Julian Chabot is gathering interest from several clubs in the Bundesliga and Premier League.
Known as “the bouncer” by his teammates, Chabot has matured into a solid and key central defender for Steffen Baumgart’s side since arriving 1.5 years ago from Sampdoria for just €2.5m.
This season, the 25-year-old’s tackle rate is an impressive 65.1%, which puts him firmly in the top 10 in the Bundesliga. Currently operating alongside Timo Hübers, €2.5m seems like an absolute bargain.
Granted, it’s been a horrid start for Köln this season. However, coming off the back of their first win against local rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach, there is a new-found optimism that all will be okay this season. What’s more, Buamgart’s position is not considered up for debate.
As per the report, Chabot’s impressive displays have caught the attention of several Bundesliga clubs.
Though the clubs in question have not been named, it’s believed it could cost around €15m for Köln to consider parting ways with their defender. Additionally, Chabot is under contract until 2026.
