Ahead of Sunday’s Ligue 1 fixture against Rennes, Paris Saint-Germain have released an injury list update, with manager Christophe Galtier facing a selection crisis in his backline amid the absences of Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos, among others in the squad.
The Spaniard, who was unable to complete yesterday’s training session as a result of an injury picked up during a match against academy players, has been confirmed as an absentee for the game against the Bretons. Ramos, the club says, is being rested as a result of a right calf issue – the same setback that plagued his first season in the French capital.
Club captain Marquinhos, who has been out of action as a result of an intercostal tear, has been training individually, as is the case for Achraf Hakimi. The Moroccan’s fellow right-back Nordi Mukiele is in the treatment room today following a hamstring injury, while midfielder Carlos Soler has a muscle issue. Lionel Messi, who reportedly missed out on yesterday’s training session, was not mentioned in the club’s announcement.
