Die Werderaner may have found their man to take change from the Weserstadion dugout next season.
Werder Bremen’s search for a new head coach may already be over, according to the latest report from Sport BILD.
The popular German tabloid notes that Horst Steffen has confirmed his appointment to the Bundesliga club on Tuesday.
Steffen narrowly missed out on promotion to the German top-flight with SV Elversberg in the relegation play-offs yesterday.
Within two years, he led the club from the Regionalliga Südwest all the way to the 2. Bundesliga, whilst growing reputation.
Steffen’s contract in Elversberg runs until 2026, so Bremen will have to pay a transfer fee for the coach likely to be in the lower six-figure range.
