Schalke 04 seem to be closing in on their new coach.

Sky Germany reports that Schalke 04 could unveil their new head coach as early as today.
It remains unclear who will succeed the recently sacked Frank Kramer at the crisis-hit Bundesliga club, but several possible candidates seem to be out of the race.
According to Sky Germany, Bruno Labbadia has turned down interest from Schalke, while former Bochum coach Thomas Reis is no longer seen as an option.
Pellegrino Matarazzo, Florian Kohfeldt, Alexander Zorniger, Zsolt Löw, Friedhelm Funkel and Robert Klauß are not in the running either, per the report.
Assistant coach Mike Büskens, who guided Schalke to promotion on an interim basis last season, is also not an option.
