Sadio Mané’s advisor rips into Bayern Munich, a club “handled by old men from the stands”

Sadio Mané’s (31) advisor and agent Bacary Cissé did not hold back in criticising his client’s former club, Bayern Munich. Speaking to RMC Sport, Cissé has shared his anger regarding the Bavarian giants’ treatment of the 2022 AFCON winner.

Mané left Liverpool for Bayern last summer after six memorable seasons at Anfield on a €35m deal. The Senegalese’s first season at the Allianz Arena was disrupted by a serious fibula injury. He nevertheless ended the campaign with 12 goals and six assists.

Bayern decided to cut their losses and part ways with Mané, who earned in excess of €20m per year. “Sadio was not sanctioned due to his sporting performances”, Cissé accused. “His salary bothered the Germans. They did not understand that an African would come and earn more than everyone else”. Cissé’s serious accusations did not stop there. He also blamed Bayern Munich’s executives and described them as unfair and ungrateful. “It was not down to Sadio Mané to prove Bayern he is Sadio Mané. He didn’t become who he is thanks to Bayern, but thanks to Liverpool.” Cissé doubled down on his comments by calling Bayern a club “handled by old men from the stands.

Mané eventually joined PIF-funded Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr, the Riyadh-based club with Cristiano Ronaldo and Seko Fofana in their ranks.
