Sadio Mané amongst players not traveling to Bayern Munich’s training camp

As reported by Kicker, Sadio Mané is amongst the Bayern Munich players not traveling to their winter training camp in Doha. Also not making the trip on Friday is Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernandez and Bouna Sarr.

Mané was substituted after 20 minutes against Werder Bremen on November 8 and hasn’t kicked a ball since. A tendon rupture on the head of the right fibula resulted in Mané missing the World Cup with Senegal and as a result, all parties made a decision to operate on the injury.

Per the report, Mané’s rehabilitation is on course but a resumption of regular training is currently out of the question. As a result, he will not travel to Doha for Bayern’s winter training camp, and will instead continue his rehab in Munich.

Neuer will also miss the trip and is sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering a leg break in a skiing accident. Hernandez is recovering from an ACL rupture whilst Sarr is training individually.

A decision will be made on Friday as to who will travel and according to Kicker, Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman, Benjamin Pavard, Noussair Mazraoui and Josip Stanisic have all been given an extended vacation following their participation in the latter stages of the World Cup.

The quintet will meet up with the team in Doha at a later date.
