Rudi Garcia could make a comeback to Roma

Serie A side Roma considering the return of Rudi Garcia as their new head coach.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rudi Garcia have emerged as a strong candidate for the Roma top job after the departure of Ivan Juric. The Croatian manager was sacked hours after the Giallorossi’s 3-2 loss to Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico.

Garcia last managed Napoli at the start of last season, taking the reins from Scudetto-winning coach Luciano Spalletti. However, he failed to make an impression as the Partenopei played underwhelming football under him and he was ultimately sacked.

The French coach spent two and half years with Roma (from 2013 to January 2016) and is ready to make a comeback. Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is expected to have contacted him after Juric’s sacking but his appointment would be a tough one as Daniele De Rossi remains a firm candidate with the support of the fans.
