Roberto Firmino leaning towards Liverpool extension

As reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Roberto Firmino is leaning towards a contract extension with Liverpool beyond 2023. Talks between the Brazilian and LFC are ongoing and positive.

Firmino has also had requests from Saudi Arabia but at the moment, it would appear the consensus is that he will sign an extension with Liverpool. Now 31, Firmino moved to the Premier League club from Hoffenheim for €41m in 2015 and has played 348 games across all competitions, scoring 107 and creating 78.

Although Firmino’s current deal expires in the summer, he remains happy at the club and is in no rush to make a quick decision on his sporting future. Per Transfermarkt, the Brazilian has a market value of €28m.

Born in Maceió, Brazil, Firmino has scored seven and created three in 13 Premier League games for Liverpool this season. Jürgen Klopp’s side currently find themselves in sixth, 16 points adrift from leaders Arsenal.
