Rival suitors believe Arsenal are now in pole position to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko if they choose to formalise their interest, according to the Telegraph.
The Gunners have a strong interest in the 20-year-old and are considering a move for him this summer.
However, Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan are also keen on signing the Slovenia international.
Arsenal have reportedly moved ahead of their rivals in the race, but they may need to pay a released clause of around £64 million as a result of his excellent performances this season.
Sesko has bagged 17 goals across all competitions for Leipzig and notched three goals for his country during their UEFA Nations League B campaign.
The former Red Bull Salzburg star has scored in each of his past six matches, and it appears that form has caught Arsenal’s attention.
The Gunners want to sign a new striker in the summer and are ready to sell Gabriel Jesus and other fringe players to raise funds.
Sesko wants to play in the Premier League, and joining Arsenal would be attractive given their form in the last two years.
He has proven himself since his days in the Austrian 2. Liga and Arsenal should not hesitate to go after him this summer.
