Paulo Otávio is the clear choice at left-back for Niko Kovac’s side, but there is hardly any other option. According to Sport Bild, Wolfsburg will make a push to sign Hertha Berlin defender Maximilian Mittelstädt in January to add depth to the position.
It’s likely that Mittelstädt would welcome a move away from the capital, as the 25-year-old has really struggled for game time with only six league appearances this season.
His contract also expires in 2023.
