Real Sociedad head coach Imanol has this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Mikel Oyarzabal.
Sociedad, of course, marked their return to action a short time ago.
Desperate to get things back on track in the attacking third after three straight outings with a goal, Imanol’s troops welcomed Osasuna to Anoeta, for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, however, La Real’s scoreless streak only continued, en route to an eventual 1-0 defeat.
As much came with the threat boasted by captain and leader Mikel Oyarzabal, once more, sorely missed.
The Spanish international is yet to recover from a muscular problem, which also kept him out of his side’s midweek meeting with Mallorca in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
Speaking to the media post-match on Saturday, the subject of Oyarzabal’s wellbeing, in turn, was unsurprisingly put to boss Imanol.
This comes with Sociedad preparing for a trip to Paris to take on Ligue 1 champions PSG in the Champions League this coming Wednesday.
La Real’s talisman, however, looks likely to miss out once more:
“It is difficult to answer on Oyarzabal,” Imanol began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. ”Today he trained a little, but his feeling is not good.
“It’s important he’s with the team and travels with us. Even if does not play, he contributes a lot.”
