Real Madrid have clear path to sign Kylian Mbappé

As reported by AS, Paris Saint-Germain are not going to make an attempt to renew Kylian Mbappé’s contract and only want the Frenchman to activate the clause in the contract that will allow him to stay for an extra year. The obstacles that Real Madrid faced last summer in trying to sign the 24-year-old will thus disappear as they will not have to fight the French team for his signature.

It is thought there have been voices within the club that say, “We cannot pay him anymore,” in reference to the very lucrative contract Mbappé is currently on, so the club is willing to let him depart without receiving a large transfer fee.

The club still hope to convince the player to stay until at least 2025 by adopting a convincing argument. In the last few years, Mbappé has not been able to play in his favoured position on the wing due to the presence of Neymar. It is argued that a move to Real Madrid would see him face the same problems he has had at PSG, in that Vinícius Júnior currently holds down that left-wing position.

Should a transfer come to fruition, it would be likely that Mbappé would revert back to playing down the middle. Additionally, contrary to reports, those within the club say that the player “seems really happy”.

Although Real Madrid have previously stated that they do not wish to force a move, they now have a clear path to finally land the signature of the World Cup winner.
