La Liga giants Real Madrid are expressing a keen interest in the signature of a member of the defensive ranks at Bayern Munich.
That’s according to German football insider Christian Falk, who points towards Dayot Upamecano as the player in question.
Stopper Upamecano is for his part as things stand due to depart Munich next summer.
As much comes with the France international’s contract terms at the Allianz Arena due to come to a close.
A renewal is as of now considered unlikely, sparking interest across the continent in a free agent deal for Upamecano.
And as alluded to above, chief amongst the 26-year-old’s suitors are Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid.
As per a report from the aforementioned Christian Falk:
‘If Dayot Upamecano leaves next summer, there are plenty of interested clubs. PSG, Manchester United and especially Real Madrid.’
With both David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger potentially set to move on next summer, Upamecano is considered an ideal cut-price addition by those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu.
