An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has come to the fore on Saturday.
For those who may have missed it, wide-man Vinícius set pulses racing across Real’s fanbase this week, after being forced into a premature departure from Brazil’s World Cup qualifying meeting with Colombia.
With a whole host of key members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad already sidelined with respective injury concerns, those of a Blancos persuasion were therefore faced with an anxious wait for an update on the status of the club’s star attacker.
And, as alluded to above, on Saturday, as much has been forthcoming.
As per an official statement across Real’s website and social media platforms, Vinícius has suffered a “tear in his left femoral bicep”.
“Following tests carried out today on our player Vinicius Jr. by Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a tear in his left femoral bicep which is affecting the tendon in his hamstring. His recovery will be monitored.”
Ensuing reports, in turn, point towards the Brazilian being set for a spell of at least two months on the sidelines.
