According to Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig are set to sign VfL Wolfsburg right-back Ridle Baku.
It had previously been reported that Die Roten Bullen were looking to get a deal over the line for the 26-year-old as they looked to add further depth to the right side of their defence.
However, both clubs were believed to be far apart in their valuation of Baku, whose contract is set to expire at the Volkswagen Arena at the end of the campaign.
Nevertheless, it is now understood that Leipzig have been able to convince Die Wölfe to lower their valuation for the defender as the two clubs reach an agreement over a permanent deal for the four-time German international.
As stated in the report, Marco Rose’s side will part with €4-5 million for Baku’s signature, with the 26-year-old set to undergo a medical in Leipzig on Friday.
With two goals and two assists in 15 Bundesliga games so far this season, Leipzig will hope that Baku will be able to help push the side on in their efforts to claim their first-ever Meisterschale.
