RB Leipzig have confirmed the signing of Max Finkgräfe from 1. FC Köln.
Max Finkgräfe has officially left 1. FC Köln to join RB Leipzig on a five-year contract.
Die Roten Bullen confirmed the signing of the 21-year-old left-back on Thursday.
“We’re really pleased that Max has decided to join RB Leipzig,” said RB Leipzig managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer.
“He’s a really talented and versatile left-back, whose main strengths are his athleticism and dynamism. His fighting spirit and strong will to win will be a real asset to our squad.
“Despite his young age, Max already has Bundesliga experience and plenty of potential to develop further. His signing gives us greater flexibility and more options at left-back.”
Finkgräfe added that he’s “really happy” to have joined RB Leipzig.
“The club is known for its good work with young players, so it wasn’t a tough decision once I knew RB were interested in me,” he said.
“During conversations with the club and Marcel Schäfer, I was shown a clear plan for my future, one that I was really happy with. I’m excited to start training next week and to play alongside David Raum, a current Germany international, on the left side.”
