RB Leipzig closing on deal to sign Benjamin Šeško in 2023

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig are closing in on a deal to sign Benjamin Šeško (19) from RB Salzburg in 2023.

The Austrian side rejected a transfer for this summer and so a deal for next summer is expected to be announced this week. Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze further add that Leipzig will pay around €24m for Šeško, who will sign a contract until 2028.

Leipzig have beaten Manchester United to the signing of Šeško. The Slovenia international has scored 12 and created eight across 39 games in all competitions for RB Salzburg since making his debut in January 2021.

The Bundesliga side are also expected to confirm the signing of Timo Werner from Chelsea in the next 24 hours. Leipzig have reached an agreement with the Premier League side to sign Werner for a reported €19.5m plus bonuses. The German forward is expected to undergo a medical on Tuesday.
