A recent report from TEAMtalk has claimed that Birmingham are ‘vulnerable’ to Bellingham’s sale as they are still searching for new owners at this moment in time.

The teenager’s current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2024, meaning the upcoming winter window may be the last opportunity to secure a top price for his services.

It’s claimed that north east trio Newcastle United, Sunderland and Middlesbrough are amongst the sides eager to snap up Bellingham when the market reopens for business.

However, the England Under-18 international is not going to be short of potential suitors, with Rangers, Nice and Bayer Leverkusen also credited with an interest in him.

With his older brother Jude Bellingham winning praise for his performances at the World Cup, Jobe now looks set to make a name for himself over the coming months.

What has Jones said about Bellingham?

Jones has told GMS that he ‘would be surprised’ if Jobe makes the switch to Rangers and that Jude’s side Borussia Dortmund are also in the running for his signature.

He said: “It’s worth a try. I would be surprised if this is the path that Jobe takes, but he obviously has a lot to consider right now.

“And that includes following Jude Bellingham’s path and going to Borussia Dortmund because from what I hear, that is a genuine consideration right now.”

Would Bellingham be a good signing?

Rangers has been linked to several Championship players since new manager Michael Beale arrived from Queens Park Rangers, and he will know Bellingham’s qualities well from his time in English football’s second division.

The teenager has failed to score or assist in his 13 appearances for the Blues so far this season, although he has only featured from the off on two occasions.

What is the capacity of Ibrox?

And Bellingham’s manager John Eustace has stated that he is ‘very level-headed’ and ‘developing really well.

“Jobe is very level-headed, he gets his head down and he works hard,” he said. “Jobe is an individual who has had a fantastic season until now. We’ve given him lots of minutes and he is developing really well. “

With the likes of Scott Arfield and Steven Davis out of contract at Ibrox next summer, Bellingham could be the ideal heir for the experienced campaigners for Rangers.
