PSG’s Sergio Rico hospitalised after collision with a horse

Multiple outlets in Spain including Canal Sur, AS and Marca indicate that Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico has been admitted to hospital following a head injury after a collision with a runaway horse.

The Spaniard was in the Paris Saint-Germain squad that secured the Ligue 1 title on Saturday night with a draw away at Strasbourg, and, like the rest of the squad, was given the day off this Sunday. He decided to travel back to his hometown of Seville.

Reports indicate that a runaway horse collided with the one that the goalkeeper was riding, and that he was hit on the neck. The 29-year-old was quickly transported to hospital, where he is set to undergo medical exams. His former club, Sevilla, have confirmed the news and sent their best wishes.

The Spanish international has made 24 appearances for PSG since joining in 2019, and also spent last season out on loan at Mallorca.
