Ousmane Dembélé (27) has given a hint as to the gravity of the hamstring injury that he sustained during Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Dembélé got the only goal of the game against Arsenal, sweeping home a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia cutback in the fourth minute. However, the France international, in excellent goal-scoring form this season with 33 goals, was then forced off in the 70th minute with a hamstring injury.
In a post-match press conference attended by Get French Football News, Luis Enrique suggested that the injury was not serious, although he did add that the Frenchman’s presence for the second leg was in doubt. “It isn’t anything serious, it’s quite a small thing but there is a doubt for the return leg,” said the PSG manager.
As he made his way to the team bus post-match, Dembélé also addressed the injury in a brief comment to reporters. “I felt a little something but it’s okay. It’ll be fine,” said the former Barcelona forward.
