PSG’s Désiré Doué unlikely to recover in time to face Arsenal, Vitinha’s fitness also a concern

Désiré Doué (19) is guaranteed to miss Paris Saint-Germain’s fixture against Stade Rennais on Friday and L’Équipe understands that it would be a surprise to see the Frenchman involved against Arsenal next Tuesday.

Doué was injured during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Stade de Reims and has since been absent from first-team training due to an ankle injury. It is a blow that is likely to rule him out against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League too, although there isn’t concern amongst the medical department at PSG that the former Rennais has suffered a more long-term injury.

His absence is notable especially given Vitinha’s difficulty in recovering from a foot injury suffered during the international break with Portugal. Like with Doué, there is no major concern, however, as of Wednesday, he had not trained with the first team. The fitness of Doué and Vitinha provides two question marks that Les Parisiens would rather not have to consider heading into a key fixture at the Emirates Stadium.
