PSG eyeing summer swoop for Victor Osimhen, Man City also made enquiry

Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs interested in a summer move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Nigerian striker has been in red-hot form this season, racking up 21 goals and five assists in all competitions. He has also been a vital cog in the attack for the Partenopei, who are on their way to clinching the Serie A title and also look as potential contenders for the Champions League title.

Under Luciano Spalletti, Osimhen has developed into one of the most fearsome strikers in Europe while seeing his stock rise considerably.

As a result, his future at Diego Maradona Stadium has been plunged into uncertainty, with half of Europe’s top clubs hot on his trail.

The 23-year-old recently addressed the speculation, stating that his dream destination would be the Premier League.

The Neapolitans could ask for more than €100 million, though they intend to keep hold of Osimhen beyond the summer.

Manchester United and Chelsea are in the running for the Super Eagles star, while Manchester City have enquired about his potential transfer despite having Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez at their disposal.

Plettenberg also adds that Bayern Munich are no longer in the transfer race due to his expensive valuation.

PSG stand a great chance to sign Osimhen as they have far deeper pockets to compete with the wealthy Premier League clubs.

The Ligue 1 giants were linked with the former Lille striker in the past and now looks the right time to rekindle their interest, especially after another run-of-the-mill season where they got eliminated from the Champions League prematurely.

With the futures of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe up in the air, Osimhen can be a long-term investment for Les Parsiens, under whom their project can be centred.

However, the likelihood seems to be less for PSG as Osimhen dreams of playing in the English top flight.
