Having enjoyed a good first season at Villarreal last year, Arnaut Danjuma has struggled during this campaign. The Dutchman has failed to start the previous two La Liga matches under head coach Quique Setien, who has opted to play the likes of Yeremy Pino and Samuel Chukwueze instead.
With his place in the squad now less prominent, Villarreal are prepared to let Danjuma leave during this month’s transfer window. According to Cadena SER, Premier League side Everton are in talks with the Yellow Submarine over a loan move until the end of the season. The deal would include an option to buy the 25-year-old in the summer.
Danjuma is well accustomed to English football, having played for AFC Bournemouth for two seasons before making the move to Villarreal in the summer of 2021.
In order for the move to be completed, the Yellow Submarine would require a replacement for the forward to be sorted, although it’s unclear who they will bring in.
