Third-placed Marseille host relegation-battlers Troyes tonight at the Stade Vélodrome for Ligue 1 gameweek 31, in a potentially crucial Sunday for the race to the Champions League. Les Phocéens are in a slump, having drawn three of their last five games. Even worse, it has been more than two months since the Igor Tudor’s men have won at their Vélodrome home in the ligue. Should they win against the City Football Group-owned Troyes, they will leapfrog second-placed Lens, who were defeated last night against league leaders PSG.
Alexis Sánchez is expected to start, after it was revealed he is playing through the pain of an injury to his right foot. Arsenal loanee Nuno Tavares is in line to start as the left-sided wingback. Former Gunner Sead Kolašinac is expected to play behind the Portuguese wide man deeper in defense. Out-of-favour Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly is set to start on the bench.
Predicted Marseille lineup against Troyes :
Pau López – Chancel Mbemba, Samuel Gigot, Sead Kolašinac – Jonathan Clauss, Valentin Rongier, Jordan Veretout, Nuno Tavares – Cengiz Ünder, Ruslan Malinovsky – Alexis Sánchez.
