Aleksandar Pavlovic will reportedly miss Germany’s Euro 2024 opener against Scotland.
Germany will be without Aleksandar Pavlovic when they kick off the European Championship against Scotland on Friday, according to Sky Germany.
The 20-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder has missed training this week as he’s suffering from an infection. According to Sky Germany, it’s caused by a recurrence of tonsillitis.
Depending on his recovery, Pavlović hopes to rejoin the team after the first game.
Pavlović was first called up to the German national team in March, but missed the friendlies against France and the Netherlands due to tonsillitis.
He recently said that he is considering having his tonsils removed during his summer vacation.
“I will probably have to sacrifice my vacation to get it done,” Pavlovic told German media in Germany’s training camp.
“This is more important now. I don’t want to get sick again and be out for 2-3 weeks.”
