An insight into the plans of the transfer team at Real Madrid has been provided on Friday.
The info comes by way of the reliable Mario Cortegana, who, in a fresh report for The Athletic, has revealed that left-back has been identified as the area of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in most need of reinforcement.
The identity of Los Blancos’ chief target, meanwhile, should come as little surprise.
As confirmed by a host of sources across the continent over recent weeks, Florentino Pérez and co. have earmarked Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies as something of a must-have addition to the club’s backline.
A big-money offer for the Canadian international is therefore expected to be tabled in the summer of 2024.
Whilst one left-back is expected to make his way through the door in Spain’s capital, though, so too will one be heading in the other direction.
Ferland Mendy, it is detailed, will be moved on, with Fran García remaining to act as backup to, potentially, Davies.
