The first side promoted back to the top tier of Spanish football for the 2025/26 campaign has on Sunday been confirmed.
The outfit in question? Levante.
Amid a tense battle atop the La Liga 2 table, Levante this evening made the trip to the Estadio Municipal El Plantio, for a meeting with Burgos.
And when all was said and done, the visitors, just, managed to secure victory.
With the sides locked at two goals apiece deep into injury time, Carlos Álvarez proved himself the hero, netting the game’s decisive goal with 97 minutes on the clock.
This proved enough to guide Levante four points clear of 3rd-placed Real Oviedo in the Segunda table, guaranteeing promotion back to La Liga for next season.
Ahead of one final round of fixtures, the trio of Elche, Oviedo and CD Mirandés will now battle it out for the remaining two places in the top-flight for 2025/26.
