Olympique de Marseille prospect Enzo Sternal (17) has permanently left his formative club to sign for Jupiler Pro League side RSC Anderlecht, both clubs have announced. Sternal was previously convinced in the summer to extend his stay at Marseille, putting pen to paper over a contract tying him to Les Phocéens until 2027. However, Sternal found game time increasingly limited under the tutelage of Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder only featured for 22 minutes in Ligue 1 this campaign.
Sternal will first join Anderlecht’s youth team and will wear the No. 28 jersey with RSC Anderlecht. According to Sacha Tavolieri, Sternal has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Belgian side. Anderlecht’s transfer fee remains undisclosed.
