Julian Draxler (29) has completed his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Qatari side Al-Ahli SC for a reported fee of just under €10m.
Draxler’s six years at the club have come to an end. He joins former PSG teammate Marco Verratti (30) in making the move to Qatar. The German international had been hesitant about making the move. As reported by L’Équipe, Draxler had asked for time to make his decision over family concerns related to the move. However, he ultimately opted to honour his agreement and join the Qatari club, becoming the last big-name player to leave PSG’s “loft.”
According to Le Parisien, PSG have received between €8m-9m for Draxler, who had just one year remaining on his contract with Les Parisiens. It is significantly below the €20m fee quoted in the German media, but still a notable sum given the German’s contract situation. During his time at the Parc des Princes, Draxler made 198 appearances, scoring 26 goals and registering 41 assists.
