Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has been ruled out of the France national team squad for their upcoming fixtures against Netherlands and Scotland due to injury, the French Football Federation confirmed.
He has been replaced by Chelsea defender Axel Disasi.
In Bayern Munich’s recent 3-0 victory against Freiburg, Upamecano suffered a hamstring injury and was subsequently substituted in the 77th minute, being replaced by Konrad Laimer.
This is further bad news for Bayern Munich, as they have been suffering from injury issues, especially in the defensive positions for some time now.
Central defender Matthijs De Ligt is also carrying an injury and was not in the squad that defeated Freiburg on Saturday, however, he is expected to return after the international break.
It has not yet been announced how long Upamecano will be out for.
Jules Koundé is additionally a defender who has had to withdraw from the squad with a knee injury, meaning Malo Gusto will replace him with his first call-up.
William Saliba was also replaced on Sunday by Jean Clair-Todibo.
